Church Links

The school is very lucky to have an excellent working relationship with St Mark’s Church. At the end of each term the school celebrates worship together at St. Mark’s Church and classes or groups such as choir are regularly given chances to visit the church or work with clergy in either Religious Education or in developing worship.

St Mark’s Class Friends are one of the great ways that we as a school work together with the Church community. Members of the church congregation accompany a class of children through their time at school. Many class friends help listen to reading, support projects or group work or accompany the class on trips. Others may share their experience and knowledge in the class room and attend school events. They support the children at prayer times and contribute to the classroom prayer space. Above all, they show interest in the children and their lives forming strong relationships and demonstrating the care and love of God that underpins our community. The scheme has been running for over 10 years and the children really value these caring friendships.
